 Built on Trust & Tenacity

Focused on the People We Serve

At our firm, every case starts with listening. With deep trial experience and a people-first approach, we represent those injured through no fault of their own—and help them rebuild with strength.

 Not Just a Case File

We Treat Clients Like People

You’re more than a claim or a number. We return calls. We explain things clearly. And we work like your outcome depends on us—because it does. That’s what real advocacy looks like.

Managing & Founding Partner

James E. Coogan

Jim began fighting for the rights of injured while he was still in law school. Since that time, he has dedicated his entire legal career to justice for people who have had their lives changed by tragic injury. He focuses on developing the best strategy for each client’s case, preparing the case for trial from the beginning–as that is the most-direct path to a successful outcome.

Partner

Caroleann Gallagher

Caroleann joined our firm in August of 2017, bringing with her an abundance of real experience representing injured workers and those harmed by the negligence of others. During her time at Coogan Gallagher, she has demonstrated tremendous talent in the practice of law and was promoted to Partner in November of 2018. Caroleann has a wealth of experience, a strong work ethic and a never ending commitment to building her relationship with her clients.

Paralegal

Thalia Rubio

Thalia Rubio has lived in the Chicagoland area her entire life. She attended Robert Morris University and majored in Paralegal Studies. She got her degree in Paralegal Studies from Robert Morris in 2012.

Case Coordinator

Adriana Castrillon

Adriana joined Coogan Gallagher because she has a strong belief in the power of advocacy and a genuine commitment to supporting people through their most difficult moments. Before working in the legal field, she spent time working in the service industry as well as community organizing. These experiences allowed her to deepen her ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

She has an even deeper connection to personal injury representation: as a college student, she was the victim of a hit-and-run, struck by a car while bicycling home from class. That experience provided a firsthand understanding of what it means to be the injured person with a claim. And it drives her commitment to making sure every client feels understood, informed and supported.

She expresses this in her role as Case Coordinator by connecting with clients, gathering information, and helping build the evidence in each file. She also supports the attorneys through different phases of the claims and litigation process. She is a valued member of the team and plays an important role in moving cases towards resolution.
